DATA orientation committees

A meeting of DATA members to discuss the establishment of specific orientation committees with the aim to structure the Association and give further impetus to the goals of DATA was held on April 1st 2008, at the Embassy of Portugal in Tel Aviv.

Members from eleven countries participated in the meeting and established three committees, as follows:

WELCOMING, COMMUNICATIONS & ENLARGEMENT COMMITTEE
Fernando Ferreira da Silva, Embassy of Portugal
Trajan-Doru Gheorghiu, Embassy of Romania
Teresa Mateus, Embassy of Portugal

SOCIAL EVENTS & SPONSORSHIP COMMITTEE
Gonzalo Voto Bernales, Embassy of Peru
Diaa El Deen Hammad, Embassy of Egypt
W M S Bandara, Embassy of Sri Lanka
Torsak Janpian, Embassy of Thailand

LIASON WITH LOCAL BODIES & GOVERNMENT INSTITUTIONS
Antonis Mandritis, Embassy of Cyprus
Robert G. Lyon, Embassy of USA

It was decided that more specific orientation committees could be envisaged in the future, should the scope of DATA activities so require.

Participation in the committees is open to all DATA members.
