The Diplomatic Spouses’ Club of Israel, an organization of spouses and partners of foreign diplomats from countries accredited to Israel, is having a Charity Bazaar at the Walworth Barbour American International School at 65 Hashomron St. (Corner Rabin Drive) in Even Yehuda on Saturday, 24 April. The Charity Bazaar is open to the public, and we are extending to you a special invitation to attend with your families and friends.

- The members will be selling delicious cooked food and drink from their home countries in Asia, Africa, Latin-America, North America, and Europe, plus cheeses from the Netherlands, Ireland and Lithuania.

- The International Women’s Club will have a table of scrumptious home-baked goods.

- There will be a Surprise Table, where you can pick a wrapped gift ranging from vases to jewelry to picture frames to who-knows-what?

As in previous years, DSC has chosen to assist a non-profit organization in Israel that works with the needy, regardless of their ethnic, religious or social background.

The 2010 Charity Bazaar is in support of DROR Association, a non-profit organization, established in 1981, to assist young people, who have been discharged after hospitalization for psychiatric illness, re-enter the community and become productive and self sufficient. They do this by establishing Group Homes and providing them with guidance towards independence. The residents receive consultation and guidance from a team of skilled, professional social workers. They also provide a Social Club where the rehabilitants are engaged in various social and cultural activities. All the rehabilitation programs are under the supervision of the Ministry of Health.

DSC kindly requests donations (such as free plane tickets, restaurant certificates, gift baskets with products from the home country, food stands and other items). The bazaar will also provide you with the opportunity to donate your "white elephants" - new things that you don't use anymore but you find in your home during your spring cleaning.

The resourceful ideas and the help of Embassies and diplomats are greatly encouraged and will be very much appreciated.
